The Original Card Counting Book
Card counting in the game of Blackjack has been a method used by top Blackjack players since the publication of a book written By Dr. Edward O Thorp in 1962. The book, entitled 'Beat the Dealer' was a ground breaking publication that quickly gained the status as a must read for any experienced Blackjack player. Experienced players who had read the book within the first year of print benefited greatly from the findings that were documented within the book by the mathematics professor, who's aim was to provide evidence that the game of Blackjack could be beaten with the use of a card counting mathematical system. Using a computer, the American mathematics professor taught himself the process of Fortran so that he was able to create equations that he needed to conduct his research. His research proved to be more successful for decks of cards that weren't shuffled after dealing each hand as this offered a greater insight into the number of 'dead' cards that could be removed from his calculations.
