Blackjack Over Under 13 Bet

Blackjack With Under/Over Thirteen

Some casinos, but not all casinos that have blackjack, also have some blackjack tables that have Under/Over Thirteen. Under/Over Thirteen is simply blackjack, just as the other tables in the casino that have blackjack, except with Under/Over Thirteen, there is a second bet you can place other than your original bet for the next hand of blackjack. The tables that offer Under/Over Thirteen as a secondary bet, will usually be clearly marked with a sign that points out that it is an Under/Over Thirteen Blackjack Table. You will also usually see a separate betting area for the Under/Over Thirteen wager, usually two circles, one for over thirteen and one for under thirteen.

When you place your bet for the next hand of blackjack, you can also place a second bet on the Under/Over Thirteen portion of the blackjack felt. However, you can not place only an Under/Over Thirteen bet, you would also have to place a bet in the betting circle for the hand of blackjack, just as usual.

The Under/Over Thirteen bet in blackjack is a secondary bet, you do not have to place a bet on Under/Over Thirteen to play at the blackjack table that offers this secondary bet. This bet is betting on whether your next hand of blackjack will be higher or lower than thirteen, with your initial first two cards. A lot of blackjack players chose not to place this secondary bet, claiming that it is a sucker's bet, while other blackjack players will place a bet on Under/Over Thirteen on every hand that they play of blackjack and will only play on blackjack tables that have Under/Over Thirteen offered as a secondary bet.

Under/Over Thirteen in blackjack is pretty simple to play and does not effect the game of blackjack at all, it is simply a secondary bet that a lot of blackjack players will chose to play at times while playing blackjack, it is a fun way to add a little more excitement to the game of blackjack, a way to get some more money on the table, to gamble a bit more than usual. Of course, it is a house game, just like blackjack, meaning that the odds are in the favor of the house, otherwise the casino would not offer the game and the casino would not make money, hand over fist from the game. It seems pretty easy, and it is, unless you think easy means winning a lot. If you bet on Under/Over Thirteen on every hand of blackjack, you will most likely lose more hands than you win, so it is a fun bet to place in moderation.

A couple things to remember while playing Under/Over Thirteen at the blackjack table is, if you get a thirteen, you will not push or tie, you will lose your Under/Over Thirteen wager, regardless if you bet under or over thirteen, thirteen is always a loser. It is also good to remember that aces count only as one, not one or eleven, like your hand counts as in the game of blackjack. Regardless of the outcome of your Under/Over Thirteen wager, it will not effect the outcome of your original wager, the bet you placed on the hand of blackjack.

A lot of times, the casino will put a separate table betting limit for the Under/Over Thirteen wager, which is usually lower than the table maximum bet for blackjack, a lot of times this limit would be twenty five dollars on a five dollar minimum bet table, it is important to keep in mind, every casino and sometimes every table is different when it comes to betting limits, it is your responsibility to know the table limit and limit on the Under/Over Thirteen wager, before playing, though it is usually posted on a sign, on the table, if not, you can always ask the blackjack dealer.

A lot of times the casino realizes that blackjack players that place bets on the Under/Over Thirteen area of the table, may possibly be counting cards, which is why the casino puts much lower betting limits on the Under/Over Thirteen wager.
